Holmann Saw these fellas at Globe Hall and they crushed it. Holy crap, something in the water up in Fort Collins with killer bands.
IAmContent

IAmContent Thoughtfully crafted, well written indie rock songs in the vein of early Modest Mouse or Pavement, but w/ plenty of modern elements that are entirely unique. One of the most promising Colorado bands right now. Listen alone w/ a cold light beer & think back on your life Favorite track: kind cannibals.

what’d you go and goddamn do now? you pierce your skin for everyone else, but your skin is falling off by itself. still, you peel it off from under your brow. i find it hard to believe that you’re as happy as you make it seem. we sat for lunch at a neighborhood restaurant. i called your bluff, and it ruined your meal. what’d you go and goddamn do now? say hello from some other town. can’t go back or i’ll just let you down. i quit my job on a whim last saturday. commitment is tough, but i guess i’ll see you around. what’d you go and goddamn do now? it’s all a game to me? yeah right. to fuck it all up this much and still try? i’ll probably never feel like myself, because i overestimate and let myself down. what’d you go and goddamn do now? you pierce your skin for everyone else, but your skin is falling off by itself. still, you peel it off from under your brow.

got no wings 05:01
she looked at me and said, “we’ll never find a way back home now.” and we won’t. i can’t help myself. downtown on a snowy sunday, my tears froze all over my face. i tried to chip them off, but i cracked right through my heart. i can’t help myself. white wings forever? i plucked them off near denver. i broke them off myself and the blood stained. “well, that’s great.” i can’t help myself. would you just help me out? you know what you think so well, and i promise if i knew what i thought, i would say it loud. but the truth’s been causing problems for everyone, and i’d been inching ever closer to the sun, so i was just waiting for something to bring me down. i guess in the end, we’re all just waiting around.
3.
i already feel like i’ve worked so hard to accomplish nothing. and to think, i’ve got a whole lifetime of work ahead of me - working forty hours a week. what a time to be alive. what can you expect from all this mess? and in the end, what’s it really owe to us? but here on the summit, you can see for miles. you’ll see the person you’ve been at all the right times. and just when you thought you knew everything, here comes the end of everything. something deep within me demands my attention - a man, like me, with a perpetual dream of being somewhere else. and in the end, it might all be bad, but he made a pretty good case to me: that if you’re tired of your circumstances, maybe it’s time to make a change. so when he turned to me and said, “fuck the old world," it was kind of hard not to agree.
4.
you claim you’re not scared to die, but you’re recycling stories from history. like infants, you’re writhing in your brand new skin. gravity holds you down, but you learn to walk, and you try to like the steps you take. and before you know it, you just fade away. our skin is crawling off every single day, and there you stand, you hypocrite, just trying to lay the blame.
5.
we like to speculate about the things that people say; the sights, the sounds, the aftermath of watching our planet crash. i tried to state the facts, but the fact was my fathers ate your scraps. they’ll take your table scraps, rip you to shreds, and take the shirt off your back. i like to speculate. you never mattered. they bought and sold. your skin’s the silver they want, and your heart’s the gold. we like to speculate about the things that people say; the sights, the sounds, the aftermath - it’s all bad. we like to ruminate, to stake out our neighbors and make them our prey, and i’m tired, i’m hungry, and i’m falling into all of these things. you’ve gotta get ready for this one. we’re coming up on the real sludge summit; i’ve never looked back since i came back from it. you’re a kind cannibal taking bites out of my arm, and i’ll be alright. my hands will tremble, everyday i’m fed though, and this hollow skin is a lie anyway. you’re a kind cannibal and your flesh is falling off for the earth to engulf. and when your bones hide again, underneath your new skin, you’ll be as beautiful as you always were. just as beautiful as the dirt.
